Emily Hedenland
Lead Service Dog Trainer

Emily is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who started working with shelter dogs 10 years ago facilitating adoptions and volunteering with shy and fearful dogs. Since leaving the shelter setting two years ago Emily has worked with clients ranging from puppy socialization to human and fear aggression cases. She started her training career as an assistant through Paws Abilities dog training where she learned and fell in love with reward based training. Watching clients learn how to communicate and bond with their dog solidified dog training as a career choice, and being able to assist veterans along the way sealed the deal. Emily’s love for dog training and the dog/human bond extends into her personal life as well. She has 6 personal dogs, 4 of which she competes and trains in various sports such as disc, agility, and dock diving. On her off days she can often be found napping, hiking, or knitting, all while snuggled up with a dog or two!
